What are the advantages of white fillings over amalgam?
Patients prefer white fillings over metal amalgam fillings primarily because they leave the teeth looking clean, natural, and healthy, without the unsightly appearance of metal fillings.

Should I have my amalgam fillings replaced with white fillings?
This is entirely up to each patient. Many patients choose to have their metal fillings replaced for cosmetic reasons or because their amalgam fillings have begun to degrade.

Can white fillings withstand wear and tear?
Yes. Today's dental composites can withstand much more wear and tear than the older composite materials did. We now use composite, or white fillings on all our patients' teeth.
