Sedation Dentistry

Serving Orange County, Irvine, Laguna Niguel And Nearby Areas of Los Angeles

A lot of people are anxious about visiting the dentist. At Sensational Smiles, we understand.

That's why we offer the option of sedation dentistry for our patients who might otherwise forgo their dental care because of their nervousness about the process.

Dr. Huefner has had advanced training in sedation at the general and hospital residency he completed at UCLA Hospital and Clinics.  He is licensed in conscious sedation and utilizes the standard protocol taught by the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, of which he is a member in good standing.

While we make every effort to ensure that all of our patients are comfortable with our relaxing office environment and our friendly, caring staff, we know that just isn't enough for some patients.

If you have excess anxiety or nervousness about dental visits, we offer a variety of options to help you feel more at ease so that you can get the top quality dental care you need and deserve.

Before your scheduled appointment, we can prescribe a mild sedative for you to take before you arrive for your appointment. We ask that our sedation dentistry patients arrange transportation in advance, as the sedative should begin to take effect before your scheduled appointment.

Once you arrive, if you choose, we can also administer nitrous oxide, or laughing gas. Sometimes called 'twilight sedation,' nitrous oxide helps you relax, feeling no pain or anxiety throughout your procedure.
